Itinerary :
Day 1: Arrive in Tangier;
transfer to your accommodation. Upon arrival at Tangier Airport or Port, your Sahara Desert Excursions driver/guide will greet you and transfer you to your hotel. Enjoy some free time to explore Tangier city. Overnight stay in Tangier.
Day 2: Tangier City Tour, Asilah
Begin your day with a tour of Tangier’s old city, exploring its historic landmarks. Afterwards, drive along the Atlantic Coast towards Asilah, known for its vibrant murals and relaxed atmosphere. En route, stop at the meeting point of the Atlantic and Mediterranean and visit the legendary Hercules Cave. Explore Asilah’s majestic ramparts, town gates, and cultural sites blending Spanish Colonial and Moorish styles. Overnight stay in Asilah.
Day 3: Asilah – Chefchaouen
Today, journey through the scenic Rif Mountains to reach Chefchaouen, famously known as “the blue jewel” of Morocco. Enjoy the breathtaking landscapes of the Rif Mountains along the way. Spend the day exploring the enchanting blue-washed streets and alleys of Chefchaouen at your leisure. Overnight stay in a riad in Chefchaouen.
Day 4: Chefchaouen – Volubilis – Meknes – Fes
After breakfast, depart Chefchaouen and head towards Volubilis, where you’ll discover ancient Roman ruins and learn about Moroccan history. Continue to Meknes, an imperial city known for its 17th-century heritage. Explore Meknes’ historical walls, Bab el Mansour gate, and the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail. Later in the day, journey to Fes and settle in for an overnight stay.
Day 5: Fes Guided Day Tour
Embark on a guided tour of Fes, Morocco’s cultural capital and a UNESCO World Heritage site. Explore the old Medina, Royal Palace, and Jewish Quarter. Visit the University of Al-Karaouine, the oldest operating university in the world, and other historic landmarks like the mausoleum of Idris I. Day 6: Fes – Atlas Mountains – Merzouga Sahara Desert
Depart Fes towards the Sahara Desert, passing through the picturesque landscapes of the Atlas Mountains. Stop in Ifrane, known as “Moroccan Switzerland,” and the cedar forest to see Barbary apes. Journey through the Middle Atlas Mountains and the Ziz Valley, famous for its palm groves and oases. Arrive in Merzouga, where you’ll have free time to explore local villages and enjoy activities like ATV quad adventures. Overnight stay in a riad near Merzouga sand dunes.
Day 7: Merzouga Sahara Desert Adventure
Start your day with a desert tour around Merzouga, visiting nomad families and enjoying traditional tea. Explore the Khamlia village and its cultural treasures, followed by a camel ride adventure into the Erg Chebbi sand dunes. Witness a mesmerizing desert sunset and try sandboarding on the dunes.
